HOUSE TO ADOPT SENATE INDECENCY LANGUAGE

The office of House Majority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) says that the House is expected to consider and pass the Senate version of the broadcast indecency bill in a vote during the week of June 6 when the House returns from its Memorial Day recess.

The Senate version would increase fines from the current maximum of $32,500 per violation to $325,000 as compared to the House version's maximum of $500,000. And, the Senate version does not include other provisions that are in the House bill such as tying indecency fines to license renewals and also fining performers.
