GROUPS TO DETAIL WHITE SPACE OPPOSITION
Executives from the broadcast television business, major sports leagues and consumer electronics industry will gather in Washington for a news conference on Monday, Sept. 10 at 11 a.m. to unveil the groups' joint efforts to “protect television viewers from interferenceâ caused by proposed unlicensed personal-portable devices that operate in spectrum reserved for television broadcasting.
The news
conference will take place at the National Association of Broadcasters headquarters.
On hand will be David K. Rehr, president and CEO, NAB; David Donovan, president, Association for Maximum Service Television; John Taylor, vice president of public affairs, LG Electronics; Jeff Willis, coordinating technical manager, ESPN Productions on behalf of the Sports Technology Alliance; Alan Frank, president, Post-Newsweek Stations and chairman, NAB Television Board; Elizabeth Murphy Burns, president, Morgan Murphy Media and chairman, MSTV; and other key representatives from broadcast television and major sports leagues.
