Granite Broadcasting Corp. today announced the appointment of Craig Coane as president and general manager of KBWB, its independent station in the San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose market (DMA 6).

Coane joins Granite from Comcast Corp., where he spent more than four years as the director of local sales in the same market.

Coane began his career in the broadcasting industry in 1995, shortly after receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Davis. Prior to joining Comcast as director of sales, where he led a sales organization of more than 60 people, he spent almost six years at KPIX San Francisco (CBS affiliate), serving as both the local sales manager and as an account executive. He also was an account executive for two years at CBS Radio in SanFrancisco.
