KELLY TO HEAD LIN INTERACTIVE, NEW MEDIA SALES

LIN TV Corp. has named Michael Kelly director of sales interactive/new media, a new position at the company.

LIN said the appointment reflects its “ongoing commitment to developing Interactive and new media strategies that leverage the company's content value while creating additional revenue sources.”

Kelly will report directly to Robb Richter, LIN TV's vice president Internet.

As cirector of sales interactive/new media, Kelly will lead LIN's growing interactive, mobile and new media sales/marketing initiatives and will work directly with the stations' sales managers, LIN's local new media sales force and national and regional agencies to champion the delivery of new products, services and programs.

"One of our top priorities is to deliver sales and marketing innovation through new media," said Richter. "Mike has a strong sales background and tremendous experience in broadcasting. Beyond that, Mike knows how to harness the potential of new media and will help us achieve our long-term new media development goals."

Kelly has more than 25 years experience in broadcast television and online local search marketing. Most recently, he was chief sales officer for LookLocally.com in Dallas, where he worked with national, regional and local clients to market their businesses on major search engines.

Prior to that, Kelly was national sales manager for LIN's WALA (Fox) and WBPG (CW) in Mobile, Ala., from 2004 to 2006 and was promoted to director of sales in 2006. In that role, Kelly managed the rollout of two Web platforms in the same year.

Kelly's television career began in 1982 as the master control operator of WAWS Jacksonville, Fla.

He received his Bachelor of Science degree in business management from the University of Maryland in 1981.
