FCC OKAYS SALE OF KTBY ANCHORAGE FOR $3.2M
The FCC today announced that it has approved Piedmont Television's sale of KTBY, the Fox affiliate in Anchorage, Alaska, to Coastal Television
Broadcasting Co. for $3.2 million and the assumption of liabilities. KTBY is the last of Piedmont
stations to find a buyer.
Piedmont, headed by Paul Brissette, purchased KTBY in 2003 for $4.5 million. It announced the sale and filed for FCC approval last August.
Coastal is wholly owned by William A. Fielder, the Piedmont CFO.
Piedmont has sold or is in the process of selling the following stations:
- KSPR Springfield, Mo.
- WJCL Savannah, Ga.
- WGXA Macon, Ga.
- WFXI Morehead City, N.C.
- WYDO Greenville, N.C.
- WAAY Huntsville-Decatur-Florence, Ala.
- WKBN Youngstown, Ohio
- WGXA Macon, Ga.
- KTVE Monoe, La.-ElDorado, Ark.
