WGAL Lancaster, PA, adds two to sales team

Hearst-Argyle NBC affiliate WGAL Lancaster, Pa., has added two new members

to its sales team.

Palmer Brown has joined as digital sales manager and Matthew Bekelja has is a new account executive.

Brown will be responsible for revenue development and leadership of the station's digital and internet operations.

Brown has a varied and experienced background in the print industry, most recently the regional interactive manager for Media News Group, which owns newspapers in the Pennsylvania towns of York, Hanover, Lebanon and Chambersburg.

Prior to Media News Group, he worked at Lancaster Newspapers as the interactive media manager and was instrumental in re-engineering their Web site and sales structure.

A former U.S. Marine who worked both intelligence and recruitment, Brown also was an account executive for Cable ADCOM/Radius prior to its purchase by Comcast and with Vanguard Cellular Systems.

Bekelja joins WGAL from Cutting Edge Media in Elizabethtown, Pa., a lead referral company specializing is leads for networking businesses. He started as assistant marketing director and was promoted through the ranks to senior sales consultant and into management positions.

A graduate of Elizabethtown College, Bekelja started his sales career in the telecommunications industry working for Kasual Computing and One Communications, two companies where he managed sales and servicing new and existing clients.
