WHO DES MOINES LAUNCHES WEATHER DIGICHANNEL
Iowa’s Weather Plus, a new television channel dedicated to 24/7 Iowa weather, is now on the air on digital ch. 13.2 of Local TV LLC’s NBC affiliate WHO Des Moines.
In addition to frequent weather forecasts and current conditions, the channel broadcasts instant severe weather warnings, live coverage of severe weather and MEGA Doppler Radar. Plus, the channel will broadcast immediate school closings and delays using WHO’s new School Alert System.
Iowa’s Weather Plus can be seen free over-the-air on digital channel 13.2, Mediacom Digital ch. 246 and streaming live on the “Weather” page at www.WHOtv.com.
“Weather remains the top reason people depend on a local television station and now we’ve created a resource for Iowans to get Iowa weather anytime,” says Iowa’s Weather Plus Regional Vice President-General Manager Dale R. Woods. “Iowa’s Weather Plus is broadcast free to anyone with a digital television receiver on channel 13.2. With the transition to digital television next year, more and more Iowans will be able to view Iowa’s Weather Plus and stay safe everyday.”
Iowa’s Weather Plus is powered by the people and resources of WHO News including Iowa native and 20 year station veteran Meteorologist Ed Wilson. Meteorologists Jeriann Ritter, Megan Salois, and Justin Sacher will also anchor coverage on the new channel.Copyright 2008 TV Newsday, Inc. All rights reserved.
