CBS, SAGE, ACME STATIONS DRAW FCC FINES
The FCC has dished out fines against three TV stations for allegedly violating rules requiring stations to maintain public files and limit children’s TV advertising, the agency announced this morning.
The stations (and their fines): CBS’s WKBD Detroit ($8,000); Sage Broadcasting's KIDU-LP Abilene-Sweetwater, Texas ($20,000); and Acme’s WIWB Green Bay-Appleton, Wis. ($14,000).
The FCC also admonished Sage’s KXVA Abilene-Sweetwater, Texas, for violating the inspection-file rule.
In all the cases, the stations admitted the violations in their license renewal applications.
