Religous Group Buying KDRL for $5.3M
Living Faith Ministries has agreed to purchase WDRL Roanoke-Lynchburg, Va., for $5,250,000, according to an FCC filing seeking approval of the deal.
The seller is Melvin N. Eleazer, who has operated the station as an independent ever since he lost the UPN affiliation when the network merged with The WB in 2006.
Eleazer struck a deal to sell the station to Liberty University in March 2007 for $6 million, but it never came to fruition. Liberty is located in Lynchburg.
Living Faith Ministries, based in Abingdon, Va., owns three other TV stations: WLFG Tri-Cities, Tenn.-Va.; WLFB Bluefield-Beckley-Oak Hill, W.Va.; and WAGV Knoxville, Tenn.
It is headed by Michael D. Smith.
