Sara Underwood has been named weekend co-anchor and weekday field reporter for Fox's Boston O&O WFXT.

Starting Sept. 5, Underwood will join Frank Mallicoat at the anchor desk for the Friday and Saturday edition of Fox25 News at 10:00 and the Friday editions of Fox25 News at 11:00, Fox25 News at 5:00 and Fox25 News at 5:30.

Previously, Underwood spent eight years as an anchor at WBZ Boston where she led breaking news coverage, did extensive feature reporting and interviewed numerous high-profile newsmakers.

Before coming to Boston she was a reporter at WTTG, the Fox O&O in Washington.

Earlier, Underwood was an anchor and reporter at WDTN Dayton, Ohio. She started her broadcast career at KIEM Eureka, Calif. A native of California, Underwood earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA.
